"Promoting devotion to Our Mother of Perpetual Help has become a large part of the Redemptorists' apostolate ever since they were commissioned to spread devotion to her by Pope Pius IX.

It is a wonderful ministry because so many people love the Blessed Mother and pray to her throughout their lives.

We ship missionary materials to priests, brothers, sisters, and deacons, all over the world. Locally we advertise in 'The Catholic New York' newspaper to promote parish devotions and novenas to Our Mother of Perpetual Help," says Brother Stephen Lendvay, C.Ss.R., the Perpetual Help Center's current director.

Other means of evangelization include the distribution of holy cards, posters, framed pictures of Mary, rosaries, and statues for missionaries worldwide.

The Redemptorists have made the image of Our Mother of Perpetual Help the single best known icon and image of Mary in the world today! It can be found in remote jungle villages in Asia and Africa as well as in beautiful parish churches and huge basilicas such as the Catholic National Shrine in Washington, D.C.

To keep this worthwhile ministry going, The Perpetual Help Center raises funds through direct mail appeals with greeting cards (such as Christmas, Easter, birthday, and get well) and personalized letters.
