Former Redemptorist Superior General named to Irish visitation team

Father Joseph Tobin, a Redemptorist of the Denver Province and former Superior General, was named May 31 to a team of bishops and priests assigned by the Vatican to meet with clergy in Ireland. The Apostolic Visitation comes in the aftermath of several reports that revealed the extent of the clergy sexual abuse crisis in that country.

Father Tobin and Jesuit Father Gero McLaughlin will visit the men’s religious orders as part of the Apostolic Visitation led by a team of four archbishops, including Cardinal Sean O’Malley of Boston.
