Fr. Edwin Foley died April 20 at the St. John Neumann Residence at Stella Maris in Timonium, MD after a massive brain hemorrhage. He was 91.

A viewing will be held Monday, April 23 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 6420 E. Pratt St., Baltimore, MD. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 24 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery.
Fr. Foley was born March 5, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in the Redemptorists’ Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. He professed vows as a Redemptorist on August 2, 1942 and was ordained to the priesthood June 22, 1947.
His assignments included several years in the Province of San Juan where he worked alongside Bishop Tomás Reilly, a Redemptorist who became the first bishop of the Diocese of San Juan de la Maguana in the Dominican Republic.
Other assignments included assistant to the novice master in Ilchester, MD; and ministries in Lima, OH; Buffalo, NY; New York City; Canandaigua, NY; Annapolis, MD; and Sacred Heart of Jesus and Our Lady of Fatima, both in Baltimore.
