Jesus is criticized by the Jews for having healed a paralytic on a Saturday. The Jews taught that on the Sabbath day one could not work because God himself had rested on the seventh day of creation (Exodus 20:8-11). But for Jesus, the work did not end. Jesus collaborates with the Father, giving continuity to the work of creation.
This text reveals something of the mystery of the relationship between Jesus and the Father. Jesus, the Son, lives in permanent attention before the Father. What he sees the Father doing, he does too. With the word of Jesus, a new creation began.
Jesus, today you want to teach me that the most valuable thing in this life is to be in union with the Father and to do his will in my life. Lord, you who came into this world to teach us the acceptance of God’s will in the life of each person, help me to be united with you and discover what God wants of me.

Jesús es criticado por los judíos por haber curado un paralítico en el día de reposo. Los judíos enseñaban que en el día de sábado no se podía trabajar pues Dios mismo descansó y no trabajó en el séptimo día de la creación (Éxodo 20:8-11). Para Jesús, la obra creadora no terminó. Jesús colabora con el Padre, dando continuidad a la obra de la creación.
Este texto revela algo del misterio de la relación entre Jesús y el Padre. Jesús, el Hijo, vive en atención permanente ante el Padre. Aquello que ve hacer al Padre, lo hace también él. Con la palabra de Jesús, se inició una nueva creación.
Jesús, hoy tú quieres enseñarme que lo más valioso en esta vida es estar en unión con el Padre para hacer su voluntad en mi vida. Señor, tú que viniste a este mundo para enseñarnos la aceptación del querer de Dios en la vida de cada hombre, ayúdame a estar unido a ti y a descubrir lo que Dios quiere de mí.
