In the first reading, Daniel, like a shrewd detective, brought the truth to light and condemnation to those who lied. The reading also tells us of the testing of Susanna’s courage and her loyalty to the law in the face of a false accusation. Daniel’s wisdom as God’s instrument shows that God is always with us, especially in the darkness of challenges and difficulties in our lives.
This Lenten reading urges us to remain strong, courageous, and loyal in living our faith, especially when confronted with persecution and a selfish culture.
Today’s Gospel gives us the reason we can be strong and courageous in living our faith. Jesus is the light that has come into the world. Although we might feel as though we are walking in darkness, Jesus is there with us, guiding us. He gives us the light of life.
As we continue the journey through Lent, our Lenten prayer and sacrifice will help us discover a closer relationship with the Lord and the knowledge that he is always with us. May these final two weeks before Easter enlighten us with courage, trust, and awareness that the Lord is with us always through the power of his resurrection.

En la primera lectura, Daniel, como un investigador vigilante, sacó a la luz la verdad que condena a los que mintieron. También nos habla de la prueba de Susana y su lealtad a la ley ante una acusación falsa.
La sabiduría de Daniel como instrumento de Dios muestra que Dios está siempre con nosotros, especialmente en la oscuridad de las injusticias y dificultades en nuestras vidas. Esta lectura de cuaresma nos insta a permanecer fuertes, valientes y leales a vivir nuestra fe, especialmente frente a la persecución y una cultura egoísta.
El evangelio de hoy nos da la razón para ser fuertes y valientes al vivir nuestra fe. Jesús es la luz que ha venido al mundo. Aunque podemos sentir que estamos caminando en la oscuridad, Jesús está allí con nosotros guiándonos. Él nos da la luz de la vida.
A medida que continuamos el viaje a través de la cuaresma, esperamos que nuestra oración y sacrificio de cuaresma nos hayan ayudado a descubrir una relación más cercana con el Señor y que él siempre está con nosotros. Que estas dos semanas finales antes de la Pascua nos iluminen con valentía, confianza, y conocimiento de que nuestro Señor está con nosotros siempre a través del poder de su Resurrección.
