An unusually early snow storm dropped a few inches of snow on Mount St. Alphonsus in Esopus, NY, last weekend, but Redemptorists, Redemptoristines, and their families and friends still made it to the annual Memorial Mass.
Due to the snow, the traditional procession to the Redemptorist cemetery and the placing of candles on individual graves had to be modified. Instead of walking to the cemetery, those in attendance placed their lit candles in front of a large icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help indoors. The candles were taken to the cemetery once the snow melted a bit.
