The Redemptorists of the Baltimore Province have elected a new leadership team to guide the province through the next four years.
Father Kevin Moley will be the new provincial. Father Frank Jones will serve as vicar provincial, and Father Thomas Travers will be the second consultor.
Father Patrick Woods, who is ending his second term as provincial and 18 years in various leadership positions within the province, will step down in January.
The Redemptorists of the Baltimore Province maintain their headquarters in Brooklyn, NY, but have retained the name “Baltimore Province” to honor their beginnings as an independent province in that city in 1850.
The provincial, vicar provincial and second consultor form the Ordinary Provincial Council, who along with members of the Extraordinary Provincial Council, manage the missionary activities of the province, as well as implement the policy and governance decisions of the province chapter.
Father Moley, 67, a native of Brooklyn, NY, previously served as provincial from 2002 to 2005. Since then he has served as pastor and Redemptorist rector of St. Peter’s Church and the Shrine of St. John Neumann in Philadelphia, PA.
He professed vows as a Redemptorist August 2, 1963, and was ordained to the priesthood June 21, 1970. He spent 26 years in the missions in Puerto Rico, including six years as provincial of the San Juan Province.
