Two new books on preaching, Scriptures available now

Redemptorist Fr. James Wallace has written and edited two new books that are now available for purchase.

The first, Preaching in the Sunday Assembly: A Pastoral Commentary on "Fulfilled in Your Hearing," examines the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ 1982 document on Sunday preaching. Several scholars in homilietics, liturgy, and bibilcal studies examine the importance of formation of preachers and the new cultural challenges facing them in speaking to today’s Catholics in the pews. The second book, Living the Word: Scripture Reflections and Commentaries for Sundays and Holy Days (November 28, 2010 through November 20, 2011), provides commentary, reflection and discussion questions for the readings for 2011. Father Wallace is a professor of homiletics at Washington Theological Union in Washington, D.C. He professed vows as a Redemptorist in 1964, and was ordained to the priesthood in 1970.
