On July 16, Redemptorists and friends will gather to celebrate significant jubilee anniversaries of profession and ordination of several confreres. A special Mass will be celebrated in the main chapel at Stella Maris in Timonium, MD, also home to our St. John Neumann Residence for Redemptorists in need of skilled nursing care.
Archbishop Edward Gilbert, a Redemptorist and the archbishop of Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, was the celebrant and homilist Saturday at a special Mass marking the Neumann Year. Hundreds of lay people and dozens of Redemptorists participated in the liturgy, which included a parade of nations and prayers of the faithful read in several different languages.

"Oh Jesus, you poured out the fullness of your grace over me. You made me a priest and gave me the power to offer you up to God. Ah! God! This is too much for my soul. I will pray to you that you may give to me holiness, and to all the living and the dead, pardon, that some day we may all be together with you, our dearest God!"
Later this month, Father Bruce Lewandowski will begin his new assignment as the first vicar for cultural ministries in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The outgoing pastor of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in the Kensington section of the city has ministered to various immigrant communities, especially Hispanic Catholics, for the majority of his priesthood.
Fr. Kevin O’Neil, an associate professor of moral theology at Washington Theological Union in Washington, D.C., will be discussing his new book, "Life, Death and Catholic Medical Choices" during a live radio interview June 7.
