As we gather today with family, friends and neighbors to give thanks to God for his many blessings, we Redemptorists are also grateful to all of our friends and benefactors, for those who visit our website to listen to our daily audio homilies, for our Facebook friends and those we correspond with through the mail.
Our parish in the Bronx, Immaculate Conception , recently celebrated its 125th anniversary. The special Mass drew current and former parishioners, as well as alumni from the parish school some of whom had graduated in the 1940s.
During our convocation meetings at San Alfonso Retreat House in Long Branch, NJ this week, we were thrilled to honor Jeff and Brenda Vredenburg with the honor of Redemptorist Oblate. Jeff and Brenda are longtime members of our parish of St. Clement’s in Saratoga Springs, NY .
This week Redemptorists from the Baltimore Province will hold a series of meetings at our retreat house in New Jersey to prepare for the second session of our Provincial Chapter in January 2013. Please keep us in your prayers, and know that we remember you in ours!
In the hills outside Naples, St. Alphonsus Liguori and his first companions professed their vows as Redemptorists on this date in 1732. Those first few years were difficult — most of St. Alphonsus’ first confreres left him within a year or two.
Year of Faith in California The Year of Faith already has been a busy one for Redemptorist Father Jim Dowds, currently serving as chaplain to active-duty and retired military families on and around the Naval Air Weapons Station at China Lake, CA.
