Today we celebrate the life and legacy of our founder, St. Alphonsus Liguori, who died on this date in 1787 at the age of 91. In addition to founding the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, Alphonsus was an accomplished moral theologian, spiritual author, pastor, preacher, artist and musician.
Redemptorists, family and friends gathered July 14 at the St. John Neumann Residence at Stella Maris in Timonium, MD, to celebrate with our jubilarians. Fr. Dennis Billy took time during his homily to express his own gratitude for being part of the celebration.
Perhaps the best way to describe our mission here in St. Lucia is seen in the words that Janet, a St. Lucian and past Sarnelli house member said, which was that we by our work and service were truly making the word flesh.
