Fr. William Spillane, C.Ss.R., is turning 90 this May. Some may hear that and say “Well, done good and faithful servant – enjoy retirement!” The beauty of the Redemptorists, though, is that “A Redemptorist, not in spite of old age…but through [it] can remain a missionary to the end.”
It is a privilege to share a word with you in my first message in “Provincial Ponderings!” I am most grateful to Father Paul Borowski for all of his wonderful ponderings over these past years and for his ministry of servant leadership to our community as our Provincial. Please join me in prayer that Father Paul enjoys some good rest, enjoyable re-creation, and peaceful relaxation as he begins his sabbatical time in the days to come.

Two Redemptorists, Ivan Levytsk,y C.Ss.R., and Bohdan Heleta, C.Ss.R., parish priest and vicar of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, were arrested by the Russian occupation administration in Berdyansk, west of Mariupol. They were accused of subversive activities against the occupiers, the Donetsk Exarchate of the Greek Catholic Church said in a statement.
On August 13, 2022, through the imposition of hands by Archbishop Jason Charles Gordon in Trinidad and Tobago, Royce Thomas, C.Ss.R., was ordained to the Priesthood.

Thursday, July 14th, 2022, marked the beginning of a new era in the Redemptorists’ North American Conference. Nine young men from the units of Canada, the United States, and Mexico began their novitiate together in the former St. Alphonsus Seminary in Tlalpizahuac, Mexico, just outside of Mexico City.
